EVELYN TAN 陈淑芬

Singaporean artist Evelyn Tan graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 2007. She is an avid painter who works in watercolours, oils, pastels and gouache. 

A keen plein air artist, you can often catch Evelyn in nature reserves, parks and the city capturing the scenes on paper. While she enjoys painting in a variety of mediums, Evelyn finds herself always coming back to watercolours. The translucency and immediacy of watercolours enable her to create the soft edges and subtle transition of colours so characteristic in her artworks.

Evelyn finds inspiration from many sources – music, illustrations, the bright afternoon sun and the lush greenery in the morning are all motivations for her painting. She believes beauty is everywhere and one only needs to paint from the heart. In each painting that she creates, she is giving the world a glimpse of her inner world.

Evelyn is a life member of the Singapore Art Society and participates actively in various exhibitions.
